Botanical Art Workshop: Fruits and Flowers
Day 1- Drawing and painting flowers
1. General rules in traditional botanical illustration, review of handouts
2. Basic flower botany
3. Drawing your specimen and determining the simplest geometric shapes and forms.
Finding the best composition for your flower specimen.
4. Basic instruction in watercolor for painting your flower subjects
5. Creating shadow colors for different color flowers
6. Soft and hard patterns in flower subjects
Day 2 - Drawing and painting fruits
1. Drawing fruits and creative composition
2. Underpainting for luminous color
3. Texture and juicy bits
4. Flowers and fruits. Looking at the masters. Short slide lecture.
